This article, focused on waterscapes offers an opportunity to study the Persian gardens that frequently have been formed in desert where water played a vital role and great subtlety was required to create sophisticated compositions due to the scarcity of this precious liquid.
After decades of being banished from residential and public areas, water is now becoming an increasingly significant feature in our thoughts for its aesthetic and also environmental qualities to design and manage our landscape. In spite of hard climatic conditions and the limited resources in the arid regions, we have the garden- inspired by paradise- that functions in the heart of desert as a microclimate where the water has been used not only as a practical and climatic element for irrigation, improving dryness and providing the human comfort conditions but also, as an aesthetic element that gives the ambiences and sensible qualities to gardens through its sound, movement, and also visual, olfactory and tactile impacts on human and recent users that visit these native landscapes. The purpose of this article is an analyze on the water features in some Persian gardens to show the environmental solutions that have be used in this climate for creating the oasis despite environmental limits. Finally it will demonstrate the sensorial aspects of water. |
